About IFPMA

IFPMA, the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, represents research-based pharmaceutical companies worldwide, serving over 2 million research employees who develop and provide medicines and vaccines. IFPMA are based in Geneva and have official relations with the United Nations, contributing to industry expertise working towards improving global health. 

IFPMA have around 40 employees and frequently attend and put on industry events. This includes in-person and virtual roundtables for their members and for the broader pharmaceutical industry, where they aim to connect the global health community and showcase innovations and progress.

Upskilling at Cvent CONNECT 

IFPMA have been using Cvent for over 15 years, but are constantly updating their knowledge of the platform to get the most out of it. Natra utilised Cvent CONNECT Europe to attend training workshops to get up-to-speed. “We’re pushing our colleagues to learn, which is why we are here”. Cvent CONNECT is the annual conference for the events and meetings industry and will be back this 5-7 November, 2024 with another full day of training for all Cvent customers.

IFPMA caters to a global pharmaceutical audience, which presents its own multi-lingual challenges. The IFPMA team attended training on creating multi-language sites to combat this challenge. 

Cvent Event Management allows users to create multi-language events, and to create distinct invitation lists per language. Registrants can receive emails, navigate event websites, registration forms and feedback surveys in their native language.

I did the full day training then came back for more specific training courses and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Building events with Cvent

Martina Bilova, Office Coordinator discussed why IFPMA has stayed with Cvent for so long. “We receive training for all employees and always have a good experience with customer support. Any time we need help, we receive an immediate reply”.

Like many in the post-pandemic world, IFPMA evolved to produce hybrid events, working with Cvent to deliver 22 events in the last year. “We asked Cvent to help us build our new rebranded website” says Natra Elmi, Associate Manager of Events & Operations at IFPMA.

Cvent CONNECT also hosted a website design training, which Natra participated in. “We did the ‘creating a stylish website from scratch’ training, so now we can go back and impart that knowledge to our other colleagues”. 

“The goal is for our big flagship event to start using OnArrival, the Attendee Hub and Event in a Box”, Natra discusses IFPMA’s ambition for their event at the 77th World Health Assembly in May. Training is easily available to all Cvent customers, or alternatively customers can commission one of our seasoned Event Builders to create an event on their behalf.
