The Principal Hotels chain comprises a collection of hotel properties across the UK, all of which are based in landmark buildings. The chain’s distinctive heritage and its relationship with its neighbourhoods and cities is reflected across all its properties – from the elegant Georgian townhouses that form the core of The Principal Edinburgh to the clock tower that’s synonymous with The Principal Manchester. Each hotel has its own story to tell – of its history, its design and architecture, its character, and its role in shaping the city – giving guests a memorable experience with their stay. However, the one thing that remains constant across all properties is their attention-to-detail and high-quality service, ensuring guests get a better experience with each stay.
Principal Hotels is renowned for hosting great events at its venues, making it the first choice for conferences, meetings and special events in the UK. All hotels of the Principal chain are enhanced to accommodate modern business requirements, as they come equipped with smart technology, high-speed Wi-Fi, flexible meeting spaces, healthy and nutritious catering, and a great team of people ready to provide an exceptional service.
The hotel chain also boasts of creating several destination bars and restaurants in partnership with leading chefs and restaurateurs: Colin Fleming oversees The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen at The Principal Edinburgh, while the Refectory Kitchen & Terrace and Chapter House bar in York were conceived in partnership with Des McDonald. The Refuge Dining Room and Public Bar at The Principal Manchester was created in partnership with the team from Volta, Manchester’s Restaurant of the Year 2015.
The hotel chain plans to expand its brand over the course of 2017, to include Blythswood Square and The Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow; St David’s Hotel in Cardiff; The Hotel Russell in London and The Roxburghe in Edinburgh. Principal also plans to add Liverpool and Leeds to its portfolio in 2018.
