Cvent is proud to present this year’s list of top 50 hotels for meetings and events in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Only last year, Cvent had released its inaugural list of the top MICE hotels in Europe as well as a list of top destinations for meeting planners in EMEA.
This year’s list was compiled from a pool of hotel properties that generated business through the Cvent Supplier Network (CSN) from January 2016 through December 2016. The ranking was determined by a set of qualifying criteria, which included total requests for proposals (RfPs), awarded RfPs, market share, total room nights, awarded room nights, conversion rate, and the hotel’s unique profile visits in CSN. The criteria are designed to provide the most accurate reflection of the top meeting hotels from major metropolitan areas in the region.
The Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona has emerged as this year’s top meeting hotel, climbing from third place last year. Retaining its last year’s ranking, Hilton Prague remains in the second position, while last year’s winner of the Europe list, Hotel Arts Barcelona, has slipped two places to bag the third rank on the list. Melia Castilla Hotel & Convention Center Madrid has vaulted to the fourth position, climbing 22 places from last year.
Hilton Worldwide represents the chain with the largest number of meeting hotels in the top 50, taking one-fourth of the list with a total of 12 properties. Marriott follows close behind with 11 properties, and InterContinental Hotels Group takes third place with a total of six hotels on the list.
The JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai (Ranked 45th) is the first property from the Middle East to make the newly expanded list. Other notable new additions in this year’s list include Madrid Marriott Auditorium Hotel & Conference Center, and NH Collection Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, both of which have secured a place in the top 20. Aside from Melia Castilla, three other properties have vaulted their way into the Top 10: Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre ijVENUES (Ranked 7th), Hilton Vienna (Ranked 9th), and Rome Marriott Park Hotel (Ranked 10th).
