Payment Card Industry (PCI) Upgrades Cvent to Level 1 Compliance Status
Cvent System Maintains the Highest Standards of Data Security for Payments and Transactions
MCLEAN, VA – Cvent, the leading global provider of meeting management, site selection and web survey software for over 14,000+ users in 22 countries, announced an upgrade from Level 2 to Level 1 compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards. The PCI Security Standards Council, which was founded by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa, Inc., has defined stringent credentials and qualifications for various levels of PCI compliance. The service provider designation for Level 1 PCI Compliance signifies that all payments and credit card transactions sent through Cvent meet the highest standards possible for data security. Cvent joins a select group of only 1,000 service providers in the world that have been awarded PCI Level 1 status, including Amazon, Oracle, Fidelity, and PayPal.
In order to achieve PCI Level 1 status, Cvent networks and data security procedures went through an extensive and thorough third-party audit process. Among many security enhancing initiatives, Cvent also implemented upgrades to the event management system. Cvent Chief Information Officer, Dwayne Sye, said, “Cvent has always been committed to maintaining the highest level of data security. We have maintained a Level 2 PCI compliance status for many years because the value of the Cvent system rests upon the understanding that client data is always protected to the greatest possible degree. We are pleased to announce that our longtime commitment to data security has enabled Cvent to achieve Level 1 status for PCI compliance.”
