You’ve seen the emails. It’s the buzz all-around town: Cvent CONNECT. Cvent CONNECT 2018 will be taking over Las Vegas, at The Venetian | The Palazzo, July 23-26, 2018. Maybe you went last year and are already registered. Maybe you’ve attended before, but haven't quite committed to coming this year. Or maybe, this is your very first time. Regardless of your experience, this exposé series will give you a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most exciting aspects of Cvent CONNECT 2018, along with some tips to get the most out of your experience.

#1) Talk to Planners

Do you have a crazy sponsorship event setup that you’ve perfected? Maybe you want to talk to other planners who work for non-profits about the best ways to engage attendees and increase donations. With over 3,000 attendees last year, there isn’t a better place to meet with planners in your industry and talk best practices. After all, it’s called Cvent CONNECT for a reason. To borrow the wise words of an attendee last year, “Know what color lanyard planners are and don't be shy to start a conversation with them...Introduce yourself and ask them questions.”

#2) Meet the Experts

There’s something about meeting with someone face-to-face and talking through it together. At Cvent CONNECT you’ll have the opportunity to talk to product experts about a range of topics, from whether to use a volume discount or a discount code to what planning steps are and whether you should use them (hint: you should definitely use them).

#3) Explore the Innovation Pavilion

Cvent is a growing platform and it’s exciting (and educational) to see new or updated products in person. You can watch demos or Feature Flashes of different products and get the inside scoop on functionality and new developments. This is great whether you’re new to Cvent and still getting acquainted or a power user who wants to make sure you’re using as much of Cvent as possible.

#4) Educate Yourself

With sessions throughout the day, you can educate yourself not only on Cvent but industry trends like GDPR. Interested to see what’s coming down the pipeline? You’ll get a chance to hear the Cvent Roadmap and start planning for exciting releases and updates to come. Most of all, you get to choose the sessions you think will be most applicable to you, your industry, and your events. Another wise tip from a previous attendee, “If you’re going with a group, divide and conquer the agenda. There is so much to learn and you can’t make every session by yourself. Check the app for slide decks for sessions you cannot attend.”

#5) Enjoy the Evening Activities

As an event management software company, Cvent aims to throw a great event, and that doesn’t end when the sessions do. The entertainment and networking after a full schedule of training and sessions are always welcome, and it’s a great opportunity to continue networking with other planners or debrief your team on the events of the day.
