Newport may be best known for its legendary mansions and quaint, coastal New England vibe, but this 378-year-old city is constantly reinventing—and reinvigorating—it’s world-class appeal. The new year has brought new changes to the City by the Sea.
The Newport Marriott kicks off 2017 with newly designed meeting and event spaces that are not only stylish and bold, but supported by cutting edge technology. Whether a 10-person executive retreat or an industry-wide gala for more than 1,000 guests, this contemporary hotel on the captivating harbor front delivers. Take advantage of 20,000-square-feet of new event space, including the 7,600-square foot Grand Ballroom, or exchange ideas in the more intimate settings of six new breakout rooms.
Making its Newport debut in 2017, Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina, formerly the Hyatt Regency Newport, will retain the hotel’s existing 257 guestrooms. Meeting and event spaces span 27,000-square-feet, including a 300- and 650-seat ballroom, to 50,000-square-feet of outdoor space, making it the largest group meeting space in Newport. Located on Goat Island, Gurney's will introduce Scarpetta Restaurant on site, which also has locations in Las Vegas, Miami, New York (Montauk and Manhattan) and Philadelphia. In addition, the hotel will unveil a brand new state-of-the-art marina later this season.
The brand-new Cambria Hotel & Suites in Middletown overlooking serene Easton’s Pond and the Atlantic Ocean offers multiple meeting settings, including the Atlantic Pavilion and Easton’s Pavilion, each providing more than 8,500 square feet of function space. Cambria also offers five smaller spaces ranging in size from 350-square-feet to 1,700-square-feet. Meetings and events are already taking place while the 143 guest rooms will be open this spring. The resort property will also feature a large full-service restaurant, lounge and indoor/outdoor swimming pool.
Our destination is well known for its one-of-a-kind venues and attractions, and the highly-anticipated Newport Car Museum, scheduled to open in June, will be yet another exceptional experience. Boasting 40,000-square-feet of museum space, the banquet area will accommodate up to 500 guests and be handicap accessible. Peruse an exquisite collection of more than 45 automobiles representing six decades of automotive design since World War II.
