Main Street Breckenridge, Colorado, is known for its incredible shopping and dining scene, but it also serves as the central hub of everything Breckenridge, with fun events, festivals, music, and an abundance of activities for your attendees. One of the best things about downtown is that as soon as you arrive, you are just a hop, skip, gondola ride, or jump away from endless amounts of fun. Once your attendees park their car or take the shuttle into town, they can walk or shuttle anywhere. This means more time outside breathing the mountain air and enjoying the views. Take a peek at a few of our favorite adventures on Main Street, and keep reading for details on how groups can make the best of their time in the mountains with other adventures off Main Street.

Adventures on Main Street

The Blue River and Maggie Pond

The Blue River runs down the mountain to create Maggie Pond, all the way through downtown Breckenridge and beyond. Enjoy fly fishing from the shores of the Blue River. Groups can learn to cast and find out where the fish are biting with the help of our local outfitters and guides at Breckenridge Outfitters and Mountain Angler. Stand-up paddleboard (SUP) rentals are available on Maggie Pond, with the gorgeous slopes of Breckenridge Ski Resort as a backdrop.  Also, SUP yoga classes on Maggie Pond are offered by Meta Yoga Studios.

Breweries and Tasting Rooms

Two local distilleries, Breckenridge Distillery and Dancing Pines, both have tasting rooms on Main Street, or you can check out two new wineries, Continental Divide and Carboy Winery. If beer is your beverage of choice, head to Breckenridge Brewery, the fourth-oldest brewery in the state, or head out on the Ridden Bike & Brew tour of downtown and visit the Breckenridge Distillery and Broken Compass Brewing just outside of town.

Discover the History and Mystery of Breckenridge

The Breckenridge Heritage Alliance offers signature tours recounting the history and mystery of this quaint mountain town’s past. There is a tour for everyone, with expert local guides sharing stories of everything from old miners, bawdy saloons, and Victoria ladies to lingering spirits and haunted houses.

Breckenridge Creative Arts

There is always something fun and creative happening in the Arts District, with live performances, public art, outdoor movies, and private classes and workshops. Breckenridge Creative Arts also offers interactive docent-led tours to showcase the town’s public art collection.

Breckenridge Events

Main Street comes alive during the many parades, beer festivals, art festivals, Sunday farmers markets, the WAVE festival, the Breckenridge International Festival of the Arts (BIFA), the Breckenridge Film Festival, Oktoberfest, ULLR Fest, the International Snow Sculpture Championships, and so many more. There are wonderful opportunities to catch live music at the Riverwalk Center and live theater at the Breckenridge Backstage Theatre all year long. Tie your meeting around one of these awesome events for a mountain town party you will not soon forget!

Adventures off Main Street

Biking

Bikes of all shapes and sizes are an integral part of the mountain town paradise. An expansive network of mountain bike trails is easily accessible right from the center of town, and a paved bike path extends to Frisco, Vail, and beyond, running right along the Blue River. Mountain Wave offers a Vail Pass shuttle, giving your group the option to cruise 15 miles in a mostly downhill ride. For a true local experience, check out Breck Bike Guides for customized local tours for all abilities.

Hike and Explore the Mountains

Enjoy the incredible scenery and get on the trails in no time with Carter Park, Burro Trail, and Sawmill Creek just a stone's throw away from all the action on Main Street. The free BreckConnect gondola runs from the town center to the base of Peak 8 in both summer and winter. It’s a fun scenic ride for everyone and a great way to access more hiking trails.

Breckenridge Golf Course

The Breckenridge Golf Club has three championship nine-hole courses: the Bear course, the Beaver course, and the Elk course. All three nines are Jack Nicklaus Signature courses. Panoramic views of the snowcapped Colorado Rockies can be seen from every hole.

Epic Discovery Park

Explore all the possibilities for your group at Breckenridge’s Epic Discovery Park, which is open daily from June 8 to Sept. 3. The path to the park starts with a gondola ride to the base of Peak 8 — home to a plethora of summer activities and fun for all attendees, including alpine slides, the Gold Run Roller Coaster, the Lil’ Climber Ropes course, miniature golf, trampolines, mazes, zip lines, and more. Soar up the Colorado Super Chair with a swift and scenic chair lift ride to Alpine Base Camp, with views that will take your breath away.  This is the perfect activity for groups of all sizes.
