Sustainability and environmental responsibility are not new ideas but have recently gained momentum in the meeting and events industry. With a growing amount of companies looking to holistically incorporate their organizational values into their business model, meeting and event planners are turning to Green Meetings to help reinforce the importance of environmental consciousness.
The Sands ECO360° Meetings Program at The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas, was one of the first hotels to offer customized sustainable meeting experiences to meeting planners. Deeply rooted in its commitment to redefine excellence in hospitality through responsible and sustainable practices,
The Venetian and The Palazzo, along with the adjacent Sands Expo was awarded the largest LEED-certified building in the world. With a vision to enhance the resort experience of its guests as well as the quality of life in the Las Vegas community—environmental responsibility is at the heart of the organization.
Recognizing the growing interest in “green” meetings, The Venetian and The Palazzo extended its efforts further by establishing the Sands ECO360° Meetings Program in 2011. Forward-thinking meeting and event planners who value sustainability are already one step ahead in reducing their carbon footprint by hosting a Green Meeting with The Venetian and The Palazzo.
The program provides customers with options to join the “green” effort through:
- Signature Green Events allow both the meeting planner and the resort to contribute joint external communication around Green Meetings to promote the sustainable nature of their events.
- Green Meeting Concierge is equipped with knowledge and experience in both sustainability and event planning, acting as dedicated guide to help with the execution of the green event.
- Impact Statement is given after each event, providing a detailed summary of energy and water consumption, carbon footprint, waste and recycling, and another sustainability metrics.
- Green Meeting Options offers additional customized menu options to choose from that match the event’s level of sustainability commitment including: sustainable food options, sustainable decoration options, Sands ECO360° tours, compostable disposable products, community volunteering programs, and post-event Impact Statement and carbon footprint calculation.
