We’ve gathered the recent Cvent Conference product updates below into a brief summary to make it easy for you to see what’s new that launched last month.

Recently Released

VIEW NOMINATION STATUS OF USER

Planners and Admins can now easily view the nomination status of a user from Admin.

  • When to use:  When using new Nomination for your event, you can now view the nomination status of a user by going to that user’s profile in Admin and checking the Nomination Summary section on the Summary tab.

EASY MANAGEMENT OF EXHIBITOR PARTICIPANTS

Planners can now go directly to a users’ profile to identify, add, or remove them as Exhibitor Participants.

  • When to use:  Go to a users' profile, from the Event Roles tab, and assign that user as a participant of an exhibitor. This eliminates the additional steps that planners previously had to go through to add/remove participants for exhibitors.

IMPROVED HOTEL SETUP EXPERIENCE

We've streamlined the configuration of hotel preferences for attendee types. All hotel preferences are now available in one place to save time by eliminating the need to go to different areas to complete hotel preferences.

  • When to use: When configuring a registration path, you now just go to the Hotel section of the Advanced Setup to establish all hotel preferences for that registration path.

SAML SSO SUPPORTED IN MOBILE CONNECT

Clients with a SAML SSO (Security Assertion Markup Language - Single Sign On) configuration will now be able to use mobile Connect. If an attendee is using their mobile phone to access Connect and, mobile Connect is published, they'll be able to log in on the client-side in order to use mobile Connect.

  • When to use: When SAML SSO is set up for an event, attendees will have the same SSO experience they have today. If they need to sign in, they’ll be redirected to the company’s SSO site and, once logged in, will be redirected back to mobile Connect. If they're logged into another Conference application (like Portal), then the attendee will not need to log in again to use mobile Connect.

CUSTOM EXPERIENCES IN MOBILE CONNECT

Planners can now customize the information they display to different audiences in mobile Connect through Custom Experiences making it easier for audiences to find things that apply to them.

  • When to use: Custom Experiences (AKA Tailored Experiences) is an existing feature in Connect today that provides planners the ability to provide specific sessions, exhibitors, and activities to a demographic group. From the experience, attendees will be able to view details, enroll in sessions, and interest sessions and exhibitors.

THIRD-PARTY IDENTIFIERS IN APIs

Clients will now be able to use third-party identifiers to validate a user through our APIs. They will be able to use that identifier for their third-party integrations and Cvent data.

  • When to use: Clients who have third-party integrations can now easily associate users in the Conference application with their users in their own applications through third-party identifiers in the APIs. These will be available in our login.do, userData.do and createOrUpdateUser.do APIs.
  • Who would use: Clients with third-party integrations
