Meetings, Meetings, Meetings

No-one says your work trip has to be confined to meetings, networking, and back-to-back appointments. Next time you’re in DuPage for a meeting, be sure to take the time to relax, rejuvenate, and get active. As mentioned in our “Get Physical” post, there are few values greater than working toward a healthy balance between mind, body and spirit.

Where to Stay

Choosing where to stay for a few days is just as important as any other health decision you may make. It is essential to look for hotels that offer amenities such as fitness centers, pools, spas, or even yoga classes. By researching your options and picking a healthier hotel, you are adding so much value to your stay.

“Healthier” Hotel Options in DuPage County

Le Méridien Chicago – Oakbrook Center is a DuPage County favorite that offers an array of amenities that foster both physical activity and relaxation! The Le Méridien Bicycle Programme is a unique feature that provides complimentary bicycles to guests to encourage exploration of the surrounding areas. If bicycling isn’t your style, perhaps you would be interested in the hotel’s running concierge service which connects guests with local running paths and maps.

Additionally, the hotel houses a spa in which guests receive their own dedicated spa suite. We had a chance to meet with Marketing & Events Manager, Victoria Yurachek, who shared a bit more about their spa features.

Take Breaks

Meetings aren’t just for breakout sessions. Make the most of your business trip by taking an actual break from the routine. DuPage County has a number of ways for you to get centered or get active during your stay. Utilize even the shortest of breaks by simply taking a walk around your hotel. If you’re feeling ambitious, check out one of the many hiking trails offered in our community!

The DuPage County Trail System is home to over 500 miles of trails including parts of the Illinois Prairie PathClick here for maps of the trails and begin planning your break activities!

Perhaps you would rather spend your break in a more relaxed fashion? Don’t worry, there are a variety of yoga studios in DuPage County that are perfect for you to find your inner zen during your break! Visit the Elmhurst City Centre in Downtown Elmhurst where you can try out one of their two yoga studios.

Eat Healthy From grocery shopping to fast meals to sit down restaurants, DuPage County offers healthy eating options in every category. If you’re looking to stock up on your own groceries during your stay, be sure to check out Pete’s Market in OakBrook Terrace and Whole Foods Market in Elmhurst. If you need a quick meal during meetings Protein Bar and Freshii may be the places for you. DuPage County also offers numerous fine dining restaurants that have “lighter” dishes to fit your lifestyle!
