Sunny destinations in the Southwest are always popular for leisure and business travelers, and Tempe, Arizona, is no exception. This fun-filled college town is also perfect for business meetings. That’s why the Tempe Tourism Office is offering the “Choose Tempe and Save $500” promotion in 2019-20.

Tempe is an ideal destination for meetings with 10 to 500 attendees. It's less than 10 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and features near-perfect weather, an exciting dining and craft beer scene, lots of opportunities for outdoor activities, and flexible meeting space.

In a city that's always changing and growing, planners can expect updated meeting venues and, coming soon, new hotels.

  • Tempe Mission Palms, located in the heart of downtown Tempe, recently completed a beautiful refresh defined as Arizona Midcentury Mission. The 303 guest rooms and main lobby now have a modern new look. This hotel offers more than 30,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space.
  • The Westin Tempe Hotel is now under construction. This 280-room hotel with rooftop pool lounge and energy conservation practices will be a welcome addition to the rapidly growing downtown Tempe cityscape.
  • The first Canopy by Hilton in Arizona will soon open its doors in downtown Tempe, right across the street from Arizona State University. Each Canopy property is designed as a natural extension of its neighborhood, with connections to local art, food, drink, and culture. This property will have 14 floors, with a café in the lobby, a gym, more than 3,000 square feet of meeting space, a rooftop pool with a terrace bar, cabanas, and a fire pit. It is expected to open in early 2020.
  • In April, construction began on the Hyatt House and Hyatt Place, a 259-room, dual-branded hotel in the Novus Innovation Corridor at Veterans Way and Sixth Street, near Wells Fargo Arena on the ASU Tempe Campus.

Before and after the meeting, your attendees will enjoy downtown Tempe, a pedestrian-friendly area that offers more than 100 restaurants, pubs, shops, and night spots. Breweries and locally owned, chef-inspired dining experiences can be found throughout the city. The newest addition to Tempe’s culinary scene is Fate Brewing, a beautifully designed restaurant and brewery with private dining space for groups of more than 50 and an oversized patio. Tempe also offers Broadway shows at ASU Gammage, contemporary art at ASU Art Museum, kayaking and paddleboarding on Tempe Town Lake, miles of cactus-lined hiking trails in Papago Park, and the awe-inspiring Desert Botanical Garden, all within minutes of any hotel in the city.

Are you ready to research and experience Tempe for yourself?  Get started by selecting the Claim Promotion option on Cvent’s promotions page. To qualify for the “Choose Tempe and Save $500” promotion, meeting planners must submit their RFP and book their business at a Tempe property.
