Impressive Transformation of the Event Spaces
Just last year, Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney transformed their venue spaces into contemporary and state-of-the-art meeting and function rooms. The refurbishment, led by the award-winning firm Luchetti Krelle, set out to balance the golden tones from the original colour scheme, with soft silvery greys and ink blues, achieving a cooling counterbalance and a fresh, modern look.
The interior scheme of Hart Room, level one, departs from the traditional cold and lifeless conference area and introduced the warmth of oversized, hand-beaten brass light shades to the ceiling and the warm texture of timber lining boards to the walls. Hart Room is the perfect space for hosting private dinners and intimate events and functions.
The interiors of the conference area on level two were inspired by the links of a chain, symbolising the strength and unity that binds the individual parts into a whole. In a similar way, when individuals meet as a team for enterprise or for a celebration, a bond is formed between the individuals. In the pillarless Whiteley Ballroom, bespoke golden pendants hang in the place of traditional chandeliers, creating a sculptural and restrained adornment to the ceiling. A customised metal screen, featuring multiple, bevelled mirror panels in a sparkling array, creates the illusion of an additional feature window where there was once a blank wall. Aesthetically, the refurbishment has created a fresh, contemporary and luxe environment.
The newly-furbished rooms are lit with natural daylight, and also possess an auto-adjust lighting system which is not only energy-efficient but also improves guest comfort by responding to the changing light levels required throughout the day. From brighter day time lighting scenes to soft and cosy lighting scenes for the evening.
Audio-visual systems have been upgraded throughout the Ballroom and conference areas. Motorised blinds and drapes have also been added for the ease of client operation. Energy-saving LED lighting is used throughout the refurbishment. Some areas operate via motion sensors ensuring lights are activated only when these areas are in use. Solar Control film has been applied to the windows to reduce solar heat gain, thereby, reducing the load on the air-conditioning system.
Instead of stripping out and replacing the timber wall panel with new material, much of it has been retained and re-used. In some cases, dark colour has been stained to give it a new, contemporary look.
