AIRPORT INFORMATION Kingsford Smith International Airport Sydney is ten kilometres from the hotel. Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is a 20-minute drive via the Eastern Distributor - toll for north-bound cars. Limousines, taxis and shuttles for airport or hotel pick up can be organised with the Concierge Desk DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM AIRPORT Follow on to the Eastern Distributor - toll for north-bound cars. Near toll booths select "City North" lane. After paying toll take the Macquarie Street exit. At the top of the rise off the exit, you will see the State Library on your left and the Royal Botanic Gardens on your right, and a set of traffic lights. Proceed through lights across Macquarie Street, and into Bent Street. Proceed through the next set of lights at Phillip Street and take the next left into Bligh Street. The Hotel’s main entrance is off Phillip Street. The Hotel building has chargeable on-site valet parking, which is operated by an independent parking company. This can be accessed via the hotel building from Bligh Street. TRANSPORT FROM THE AIRPORT Limousine: Luxury private limousine transfers are available using the Sofitel’s premier limousine service, Brunel Chauffeur Drive. Taxi: Taxis available from the airport taxi ranks - travel times are generally 30-40 minutes. Due to the nature of this service, travel times can range from 30 to 90 minutes. The Royal Botanic Gardens are the most central of the three major botanical gardens open to the public in Sydney. (the others are the Mount Annan Botanic Garden and the Mount Tomah Botanic Garden). See flora from around the world and the most unique Australian tree, the Wollemi Pine, which was only recently discovered. The Wollemi Pine is one of world's oldest and rarest plants dating back to the time of the dinosaurs and there are less than 100 adult trees known to exist in the wild. The setting for the Royal Botanic Gardens is exquisite, nestled between Macquarie Point and the Opera House. Beware gates are locked at sunset ! The Queen Victoria Building, or QVB, is a late nineteenth century building by the architect George McRae in the central business district of Sydney. The Romanesque Revival building is 30 metres wide by 190 metres long, and fills a city block, bounded by George, Market, York and Druitt Streets. Designed as a shopping centre, it was later used for a variety of other purposes until its restoration and return to its original use in the late twentieth century.
