It played an important role and was the central source of wealth in Piran’s diverse history. To date, a part of the Strunjan salt pans has been retained, while the Sečovlje salt pans still maintain traditional salt production and thus preserve their special quality. The view of the picturesque salt fields is very beautiful. You can also experience and visit the salt pans and the salt festival in person. The quality name of Piran salt is widely known even today. Do not be surprised if you see it on the shelves of a prestigious store in one of the great European cities.
