Malmö Live

會議中心
Malmö Live Malmö Live is an entire district comprising a concert hall, conference centre and hotel. The Danish architect firm Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter is responsible for the design with buildings at different heights, rooftop terraces, wooden decking facing the canal and glittering façades. The colours – red ochre, yellow and white – were selected to match the City of Malmö’s colour scheme. The intention is that they will link the old city centre with the newer development in the harbour area. Malmö Live will be officially opened in May 2015.

Malmöhus Castle

博物館
The oldest preserved renaissance castle in the Nordic region. It was built in the 16th century on behalf of the Danish King Christian III, although parts of the building are also remnants from the citadel built by Eric of Pomerania in 1434. The castle ceased to be a royal residence in 1658, when Skåne became part of Sweden, and was instead used as a fort and later as a prison. It is now a museum.

Ribersborgs Kallbadhus

娛樂
Ribersborgs kallbadhus The original Ribersborgs kallbadhus, known locally as Kallis or Ribban, was built back in 1892. It was damaged during a Christmas storm in 1902, but was rebuilt in a slightly modified form. The building has an open, wooden design with horizontal panels, reflecting the architecture of a Swedish spa. “Kallis” is now classified as a listed building and is a popular bathing facility all year round.

The Öresund Bridge

The Öresund Bridge Mighty and impressive, the Bridge connects the two nations over the Öresund. The main architect was Georg K S Rotne and the Bridge, which is around eight kilometres long with its symmetrical 204 metre high pylons, was officially opened on 1 July 2000. The crossing as a whole is 16 kilometres long, and on the Danish side the Bridge leads into a road on the artificial island of Pepparholm, after which it becomes a four kilometre long tunnel under the water. You can view the Bridge from the Western Harbour.

The Western Harbour

商務區
An industrial area falling into decay, now a residential district with a sustainability concept that attracts visitors from both China and Copenhagen. Many of the buildings were built ahead of the Bo01 housing trade fair, and the area has been called a milestone in Swedish architecture. It offers a combination of small scale and urban structure, with new modernist architecture. The area has locally renewable energy and advanced waste management. The “Fullriggaren” district has Sweden’s biggest collection of low-energy and passive buildings, with solar cells, solar panels, small wind farms, green roofs and a car pool. Why not take a ride along the promenade and in among the more sheltered alleyways?
