Piazza della Vecchia Pescheria and ‘Piazzetta delle Poveracce’
Piazza della Vecchia Pescheria and ‘Piazzetta delle Poveracce’
Rekreasyon
15 dk.
Once upon a time, it was the Old Fish Market, the Vecchia Pescheria, with benches of Istrian stone, and the and the memory of women with headscarves selling clams, or ‘poveracce’, as they still call them in Rimini. Now it is the centre of nightlife in town, essentially a living room in the historic centre, surrounded by local and trendy wine bars, immersed in a friendly atmosphere and made up of narrow streets and small squares surrounded by its charming history. Taverns, restaurants and trendy places in this picturesque corner of the city are a meeting point for thousands of young people who get together for an aperitif, a snack, or a concert. In this corner of Rimini, the trendy place to hang out is within its history: a kind of room that is almost completely covered and filled with shops and “the places to be”. There are butchers, delicatessens, bakers, spice shops, bookshops and antique shops. You can eat, drink and chat, surrounded by walls that makes antiquity seem even more friendly.
Sismondo Castle
Sismondo Castle
Tarihi sembol
15 dk.
Castel Sismondo is a castle in Rimini. Of the original construction, begun by the lord of Rimini Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta in 1437, only the central nucleus remains. According to the contemporary chronicles, Malatesta himself designed it, although it is known that several true architects, including Filippo Brunelleschi (who was in Rimini in 1438) worked at its construction. The works lasted some 15 years. According to the ‘Renaissance man’ reputation of Sigismondo, the castle is no standard bricks and mortar construction, instead it is impressively irregular and unique. Its spaces and rooms of various sizes, together with the inner court, host different types of events, from conferences, to cocktail receptions and dance competitions.
Amintore Galli Theatre
Amintore Galli Theatre
Tiyatro
15 dk.
Amintore Galli Theatre Teatro Amintore Galli is the Municipal Theatre of Rimini. Its construction began in 1843 and it was opened in 1857 with the opera “Aroldo” by Giuseppe Verdi. The project (1841-43) was signed by Luigi Poletti, who was an architect and engineer of the Papal States. Luigi Poletti designed the Municipal Theatre of Rimini as a temple of music. He was inspired by the solemnity and magnificence of Roman temples and proposed an innovative style; a monumental building in a classic architecture (Greek-Roman), which distinguished the theatre from others in Europe of the same period. The last performance of the theatre dates back to the carnival 1943 because afterwards much of the building was destroyed by the Second World War. The apse and the roof collapsed, and about 90 percent of the auditorium and the stage, which contained more than a thousand seats, were destroyed. The only part that remained almost undamaged is the foyer. The Amintore Galli Theatre, now completely restored, will be officially re-opened in October 2018, remaining as faithful as possible to the original project

Tiberius Bridge
Tiberius Bridge
Tarihi sembol
15 dk.
il Ponte di Tiberio (Tiberius Bridge), was started during the reign of Augustus, as part of his extensive series of public works for Rimini, but takes its name from Tiberius, the Emporor under whose reign the bridge was finished. Built in seven years, between 14 and 21.AD. The Bridge is a remarkable construction, proven by the fact that it remains largely as it was when built by the Romans – despite the ebbs and flows of nature, the numerous wars it has seen, and modern day traffic (the bridge remains in use). The bridge connects Rimini’s centro storico with the borgo San Giuliano. During the summer months, often, there are concerts and events staged in the canal with the ponte di Tiberio as an impressive backdrop.

Rimini’s Arco di Augusto (The Augustus Arch) is the oldest surviving Roman triumphal archway in existence. It highlights the importance of Rimini in the Roman world, and is the most iconic monument of classical Rimini. The arch was built in 27 B.C. and dedicated to Augustus – at a time when Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus was succesfully consolidating his individual power – on the orders of the Senate. It was the start of the so-called Pax Romana, a prosperous and peaceful period which saw major building projects undertaken in Rimini including the Tiberius Bridge (actually started by Augustus in 14 A.D just before his death).

Fellini's Dolce Vita in Rimini
Fellini's Dolce Vita in Rimini
Rekreasyon
“I can never think of Rimini as an objective reality. Rather, it is only a dimension of the memory.” Quote from “La mia Rimini” (My Rimini) by Federico Fellini. In a sense, all Fellini ever did was to make films about Rimini, his home town. There is a lot about Rimini in Fellini’s films, even though the sets were always constructed in Cinecittà. To discover Fellini’s Rimini a dedicated itinerary is proposed, starting from the seaside, from the Grand Hotel di Rimini, where it is possible even to sleep in the Fellini Suite (his own favourite) or book a dinner based on the Fellini menu Next stop it is the port on the palata (wharf) where the Vitelloni (young men about town) liked to philosophise endlessly in wintry Rimini and where the motorcyclist in Amarcord used to come to ride his bike at full throttle. Even trains (symbolic of travel) and the station are often present in his films. The original station is in Piazza Battisti. There are also various houses where the Fellini family lived. Fellini himself could not remember where his very first home was, only that one day his father vaguely indicated a street saying that it was where he had been born. However, he was always very fond of the home of his adolescent years and his first love affairs.

Republic of San Marino
Republic of San Marino
Tarihi sembol
30 dk.
Europe's smallest and oldest Republic was founded by Saint Marino, a stone-cutter monk who fled here to escape persecution by the emperor Diocletian in the 4th century. San Marino lies on Monte Titano at a height of 760 metres above sea level and has plenty of monuments, attractions and traditions to offer visitors, as well as a long and proud history of freedom and independence. Particularly spectacular is the investiture ceremony of the Capitani Reggenti [the higher magistrature of the Republic], held every six months in evocation of an ancient protocol. The Republic comprises nine villages, each with its own castle surrounded by gardens, museums and shops. San Marino has its own mint, makes its own stamps and does not operate customs controls.
The Surgeon's House

10 dk.
“The Surgeon's House” was inaugurated in 2007. The important archaeological complex, situated in the heart of the town centre, was discovered in 1989 and presented to the city of Rimini after 18 years of excavation and conservation. The archaeological area covers over 700 sqm and includes many different building elements, among which the most interesting, the so-called Surgeon's House (Domus). This was a residential building of the Roman period, built during the second half of the 2nd century A.D. Other findings of great archaeological interest were unearthed providing us with an exceptional example of historical and urban stratification. With a great deal of care and patience, the archaeologists of Rimini, led by Jacopo Ortalli, in charge of the excavations, brought to light a unique historical patrimony. The large number of unearthed remains and mosaics are of great interest and all well preserved. The most extraordinary discovery is the collection of 150 surgical instruments. They leave us no doubt as to the profession of the owner: a doctor.
