The National Theater is also located directly on the banks of the Vltava. The Národní divadlo, as it is known in the local language, is one of the most important buildings in Prague's New Town and one of the country's most important cultural institutions. Rock from various regions of the Bohemian mountains was used as the foundation stone for the National Theatre.

Prague Castle dates back to the 9th century and towers over the Czech capital. It stands in the heart of the city on Hradčany Hill and has undergone numerous structural changes over the course of more than 1000 years. Prague Castle is considered the largest closed castle complex in the world and is a unique highlight for all history and architecture enthusiasts, not least because of the large number of restorations in the style of different eras.

This square is the commercial and administrative centre of the city as well as the site of important social and historical events. Here you'll find cinemas, theatres, banks, hotels, restaurants, dozens of small and large shops, and administrative centres. The square was created during the founding of the New Town by Charles IV in 1348. Today it is dominated by the National Museum (1885 – 1891) and Josef Václav Myslbek’s statue of the national patron St Wenceslas from 1912.
