Ryman Auditorium

Tarihi sembol
8 minutes uzakta
When you walk through the doors of the historic Ryman Auditorium, one thing becomes clear right away: this isn’t just another nightly music venue, and it’s so much more than a daytime tourist stop. This place is hallowed ground. This is the exact spot where bluegrass was born, where Johnny Cash met June Carter, where souls were saved and a slice of history was nearly lost. It was right here that country music found an audience beyond its own back porch, and countless careers took off as deals were signed on napkins and paper scraps backstage. This is a building where anything is possible: a soul can find redemption, a crumbling building can find salvation, and an unknown kid with a guitar can find their name in lights.

Nissan Stadium

Rekreasyon
10 minutes uzakta
Centrally located on 105 acres along the east bank of the Cumberland River and just across the water from the heart of downtown Nashville, Nissan Stadium opened its doors in August 1999. In the stadium's most famous and controversial play, Kevin Dyson took a Frank Wycheck lateral on a kickoff return 75 yards in for a touchdown with 16 seconds left, lifting the Titans to a 22-16 victory in the AFC Wild Card playoff game against the Bills. The "Music City Miracle" vaulted the franchise to an appearance in Super Bowl XXXIV, where the Titans fell one-yard short of tying the game as time ran out, losing to the St. Louis Rams, 23-16. Nissan Stadium is one of two open-air stadiums in the AFC South and it features 12,000 club seats and 175 private suites. A 10-year stadium-naming-rights agreement with Louisiana Pacific was announced in 2006. More than 2,000 trees were planted on stadium property. The facility also is the home football field for Tennessee State University.

Printers Alley

Tarihi sembol
1 minute uzakta
Printer's Alley takes its name from its early connection with Nashville's printing and publishing industry, then located in the immediate area. The alley also became the center of the city's nightlife and serviced the hotels, restaurants, and saloons fronting on Fourth Avenue, which was known as the Men's Quarter in the late nineteenth century. Nightclubs opened here in the 1940s, and the alley became a showcase for the talents of performers such as Boots Randolph, Chet Atkins, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams, and Dottie West. This historic district's architecture includes elegant late Victorian styles, Nashville's first automobile parking garage, and the city's first "skyscraper." Although the Printers have long since gone, The World Famous Printers Alley still remains, providing a Flair of Bourbon Street . Located between Third and Fourth Avenues stretching from Union to Church Streets, the Alley started before the turn of the century as the location of many of Nashville's first Publishing and Printing Companies. Without the Country Musical influences, Nashville could have possibly been known as the Printing Capitol of the World. As late as the 1960's, Nashville was home to over 36 Printing Companies and many other numerous Businesses, whose roles were to support and supply the massive industry

For those who don't know, a honky tonk is an establishment that contains at least one rockin' stage, cold beverages, and a party that lasts all day, everyday. And we mean every SINGLE day. Nashville's Honky Tonk Highway, located on Lower Broadway, is a row of these beautiful things pumping live music into the streets from 10am to 3am. One of the best parts: it doesn't cost a thing. Meaning no cover charge. Meaning save your money for more important things like the tip jar! Because in Music City we understand music should be shared to all. And you never know who you’ll see in these Lower Broadway clubs. Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Gretchen Wilson, Dierks Bentley and other stars began their careers on this amazing street. MEANING the person you see singing on the stage in Music City might be the next big thing. So travel along with us as we hit each honky tonk on Music City's Honky Tonk Highway.
