The Pestana Miramar is one of the most charismatic hotels in Madeira, its construction being based around the elegant Miramar Hotel, a manor house of the 1920s. Special care was taken in the architectural design so it would blend into the landscape. This hotel in Madeira combines modern and classical elements, creating a unique environment. The new buildings were constructed in a rustic style, using terracotta tiles and having balconies with the traditional balustrades of the region, surrounded by tropical gardens of about 5000 m2, which won the Funchal "City of Flowers" Award.
