The "Istituto degli Innocenti" (Institutes of the Innocents) in Florence has been working for nearly six centuries on behalf of the family and the child. At the time when it was established, during the first half of the fifteenth century, it was the first institution in the known world devoted exclusively to child care. Within the building, a few Renaissance premises, such as the ground floor Hall, a nearby room, the Women's Cloister, the basement, 2 halls and a suitably equipped room on the first floor - are devoted to convention services.
