Additional details
"KOCHUAN" is a traditional Japanese restaurant located in "HAPPO-EN" that features an extensive Japanese garden of over 10 acres. Four hundred years ago in the Edo period, here lived the the SAMURAI "OKUBO HIKOZAEMON", known as " A man of faith." Because of its good view, it was later named HAPPO-EN- the garden with a view in all directions. Even now it retains the beauty of its natural setting- a rarity in TOKYO. With its meticulous traditional Japanese landscaping, HAPPO-EN is considered to be one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan. Build by "HITACHI" founder "FUSANOSUKE KUHARA", Kochuan was a traditional Japanese style house designed to entertain his guests. The windows open on to a year-round vista of the garden's beauty. KOCHUAN's twelve guest rooms are designed to meet a variety of needs and are available for such occasions as dinner parties and weddings. Foreign guests can enjoy a room featuring a horigotatsu, a very comfortable area where one can sit below the table that allows guests to feel as if they are relaxing in chairs. Western style rooms are also available. With its ever changing seasonal beauty, traditionally charming Japanese rooms, and the skills our chef brings in presenting the finest of Japanese cuisine, KOCHUAN will indeed enhance your satisfaction.
