The Dyess Colony was created in 1934 as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal to aid in the nation’s economic recovery from the Great Depression. As a federal agricultural resettlement community, it provided a fresh start for nearly 500 impoverished Arkansas farm families, including the family of music legend Johnny Cash.

Bradbury Art Museum, formerly known as Bradbury Gallery, is a contemporary art facility on the campus of Arkansas State University. It was established in January of 2001 by Curt Bradbury who provided an endowment in honor of his wife, Charlotte, an alumna of A-State and a former member of the university's Board of Trustees. In August of 2015 the gallery was reestablished as a museum to better reflect its scope and purpose of teaching, presenting and collecting. This museum offers free admission to the public!

Jonesboro Municipal Airport is owned by the City of Jonesboro. Currently, the airport is served by Air Choice One which provides 3 flights per day, on average, to St. Louis, Missouri.
