Leopardstown Racecours is an Irish horse-racing venue, located in Leopardstown. The course, built by Captain George Quin and modelled on Sandown Park Racecourse in England, was completed in 1888 and acquired by the Horse Racing Board of Ireland in 1967. Many important races are held here and racing takes place all year round, with about 22 meetings per year. The Leopardstown Hall of Fame honours famous Irish horse racing trainers, jockeys and horses like, Vincent O'Brien, Tom Dreaper, Pat Taaffe and Pat Eddery, Arkle, Dawn Run, Levmoss and Nijinsky.

University College Dublin is a research university in Dublin, Ireland. With over 1,482 faculty and 32,000 students, it is Ireland's largest university. The university can trace its history to the institution founded in 1854 as the Catholic University of Ireland, was established as UCD in 1880 under the auspices of the Royal University, and received its charter in 1908 UCD is frequently ranked among the top universities in Europe. The original multi discipline ground was in existence at the Lansdowne Road site since 1872. In its old incarnation, prior to closure in December 2006, it was the oldest rugby union ground worldwide & oldest sports stadium in Europe. The stadium is the home to the Irish national rugby and Republic of Ireland national football team. Aviva Stadium is now Ireland’s only UEFA Category 4/Elite Stadium and has won a number of awards including RIAI & RIBA. Since opening in May 2010 over 1.8 million ticketed visitors have passed through the turnstiles for rugby, soccer & concerts.

Golf was first played in Elm Park in 1925, tennis courts were added within a few years, and the two sports have continued to coexist ever since making Elm Park the unique club that it is. The facilities for each sport started with a 9-hole golf course and 5 tennis courts respectively, but they were quickly expanded and the sports facilities now include an 18 hole golf course with practice area and an 18 hole putting green in a beautiful setting; and 14 tennis courts (5 all-weather floodlit, 2 covered courts and 7 grass courts).

The Royal Dublin Society is the name given in 1820 to an organisation which was commonly known as the 'Dublin Society' and which was founded on 25 June 1731 to promote and develop agriculture, arts, industry, and science in Ireland.
