Hilton Haikou Meilan

Located in Qiongshan District, Dongzhai Port Nature Reserve has an area of 2,500 hectares (6,200 acres), with a total coast line of more than 50 kilometers. It includes six rivers and a number of bays and tidewater gullies. The Mangrove forest on the south coast provides a habitat for birds and other wildlife. The Nature Reserve has been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites Tentative List.

Haikou Volcanic Cluster Global Geopark, with a total area of 118 square kilometers, is a national park located approximately 15 km west of Haikou, Hainan, China. It is named for a crater, one of many extinct volcanoes on the island.

The first large tropical wildlife and botanical park of China, Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park and Botanical Garden, covering more than 5000 mu area and collecting not less than 4000 rare birds and animals including 200 species, located in Dongshan Town Xiuying District Haikou City (12 kilometers away from the intersection of East-Expressway) and Golden Tourism Area of Northern Hainan Island which with advantage in traffic. Diversity tropical valuable, rare and endangered animals, tropical economical forest, tropical beverage forest, tropical followers and fruit forest spread all over the garden; Jiaosha Banyan, trial, bines and other local plant stand every where. It is a typical tropical rain forest which has 90% covering rate of tropical forest and the sole tropical rain forest Wildlife Park and Botanical Garden and characterized as an island garden in China.

Situated between Bin Hai Road and the north coast of the main part of Haikou, Evergreen Park is the largest park in the city. The park contains approximately ten thousand coconut trees and hundreds of species of South Asian ornamental plants. It was opened in January 3, 1996, and is the main site of many of the city's festivals and events, including all the major fireworks displays. It contains an artificial lake, a small amusement park, and various kiosks. The Hainan Exhibition & Convention Center and Haikou Great Hall of the People are adjacent to the west side of the park. The mouth of the Haidian River and the Haikou Century Bridge are located by the eastern side. Haikou City Stadium is located on Binhai Road, at the southeastern corner of the park.

Hai Rui (23 January 1514 – 13 November 1587) was a Chinese official of the Ming Dynasty. In China he has been remembered as a model of honesty and integrity in office. Haikou, the largest city on Hai Rui's home island of Hainan, celebrates Hai Rui's deeds. A memorial has been constructed and his tomb is open for worship.
