Established around a century ago and restored in 2008, Souq Waqif is a wonderful place if you’re interested to experience the culture and traditions of Qatar. Translated as “standing market”, Souq Waqif is located in the old centre of Doha, around 20 minutes’ drive from Mövenpick Hotel Al Aziziyah Doha. The souq features a rich variety of traditional garments, spices, handicrafts and souvenirs in the shops of its narrow alleyways. There are also a lot of cafés, shisha lounges and restaurants that serve cuisine from all over the world.
