Cancellation Policy
If the lessee cancels any event covered by a lease agreement, Lessee agrees to pay the SMCEC the following amounts as liquidated damages and not as penalty: * Cancellation more than 1 year to the first day of move in - no penalty * Cancellation less than 9 months but more than 6 months to the first day of move in - 50% forfeiture * Cancellation less than 6 months but more than 3 months to the first day of move in - 75% forfeiture * Cancellation less than 3 months to the first day of move in - 100% forfeiture. All amounts are due upon the receipt of the invoice. Should a lessee fail to notify SMCEC of a cancelled event or fail to take possession of and use the premises, no refund shall be made and the full rent (including any disbursements or expenses incurred by SMCEC in connection with the event) shall be made payable to SMCEC.
