The Hotel Meridiana in Venice was built by Giuseppe Tramontin in the early 30’s. It is named after the large sun dial on its façade, not just artistically captivating but also practical for all the passers on and from their way to the beach, as own watches have been very rare. Although initially classified as an "inn", it immediately became an above average tourist structure. At that time it had 35 rooms. Now there are 33 rooms. For its characteristics and being not far from the beach, it became very popular. Guests flocked the Hotel from various locations but they mainly consisted of families from Padua and Milan which would stay on the Lido of Venice for up to two months.
