The Minneapolis Institute of Arts is a comprehensive art museum located in Minneapolis, Minnesota on a campus that covers nearly 8 acres (32,000 m²). It does not charge an entrance fee (although it does charge for some special exhibitions), and allows photography of its permanent collection. The museum receives support from the county museum fund, levied by the Hennepin County commissioners.

U.S. Bank Stadium, home to the Minnesota Vikings, is a an indoor facility that hosts major events that create economic, fiscal and social benefits to Minneapolis. The Vikings first season in this new stadium is 2016.

The Minnesota Opera is a performance organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was founded in 1963, and is known for premiering such diverse works as Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak and Frankenstein by Libby Larsen. Its latest commissioned piece and world premiere, The Grapes of Wrath - based on John Steinbeck's novel of the same name, with music by Ricky Ian Gordon and libretto by Michael Korie was presented in February 2007. The Minnesota Opera claims to be the 16th largest opera company in the United States.

Xcel Energy Center is a sports arena in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA sponsored by Xcel Energy. It is the home ice of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and the NLL's Minnesota Swarm. The city of Saint Paul owns the arena. The arena contains four spectator levels: one suite level, and three general seating levels named the 100 level, the club level, and the 200 level. Its official capacity is 18,064, but on February 8, 2004, the NHL All-Star Game set a record for attendance at a hockey game in Minnesota at 19,434. The record attendance for a Wild hockey game was set October 5, 2005 at 19,398, the first game after the lockout season. In addition, Xcel Energy Center also hosts musical concerts, in October 28, 2003 Shania Twain sets Xcel Energy Center's single-night concert attendance record of 20,554. It opened in the fall of 2000 and it is called the "X" by fans. It was built on the site of the demolished St. Paul Civic Center. In 2004, the arena was named by ESPN as the best overall sports venue in the United States.
