The newly build Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) was created by expanding the former Berlin-Schönefeld Aiport (SXF) and became legally operational on the 4th of November 2020, while passenger handling in Terminal 1 started on the 31th of October 2020. It now serves as the main airport for Germanys capital and the surrounding area. In the course of its opening it replaced the international Airport Berlin-Tegel (TXL).

Brandenburg Gate

A symbol of unity Without a doubt, the Brandenburg Gate is Berlin's signature attraction. Built in 1791, it was just one of many old city gates around the city of Berlin which, at that time, was still a manageable size. The decorative Pariser Platz was laid at the foot of the gate and is now home to many of the city's important buildings, for example, the Hotel Adlon with its wealth of history and the Akademie der Künste (Academy of the Arts).

Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church

The church is named after Wilhelm I. who can be seen in the well-preserved mosaics in the vestibule of the old church. Today it is also a war memorial, represented by historical illustrations of the church and the theme of reconciliation. Reichstag

When the decision was made to move the Federal Government to Berlin, it was time to reawaken the Reichstag building from its long years of slumber on the Mauerstreifen, the military zone between the two sides of the Wall. The building has since been completely modernised, and today's visitors to the Reichstag can look out from the building's glass dome to get a bird's eye view of the hustle and bustle in the city. There are also a number of government buildings in the vicinity of the Reichstag, for example the Bundeskanzleramt (Federal Chancellery) and the Brandenburg Gate.

The Federal Chancellery, the Reichstag building and the main station are just a few minutes away from the Steigenberger Hotel am Kanzleramt - a more central and convenient accommodation in Berlin is virtually impossible. The coffee and tea station, Internet connection, safe and minibar are just some of the facilities that await you in your room or suite. The conference section covers an area of more than 2,400 m² on two floors and in 12 rooms in total. On the ground floor is the hall with its two foyers - perfect for presentations and exhibitions for up to 400 people. The seminar section with 10 further meeting rooms is located directly above.
