The Archeological Museum of Kos is centrally located in Kos town, and boasts an interesting collection of prehistoric finds, inscriptions, mosaics and many other exhibits. At the very entrance of the Museum, visitors can see an impressive mosaic which shows the kidnapping of Princess Europe by god Zeus (disguised as a bull!). The mosaic is inspired by a lovely story from the Greek mythology, that "explains" how the continent was named "Europe" to honor the beautiful princess...

The Asclepeion is named after the ancient god of Medicine, Asclepeios. It is considered as the greatest health institution of the ancient times and is a site of special interest and significance for the members of the medical community worldwide. Many international medical and pharmaceutical conferences take place in Kos because of the Akslepeion. Doctors can attend a special ceremony where they "renew" their Hippocratic Oath.
