Military Museum and Cultural Center Command has approximately 55.000 objects in its inventory, 5.000 of which are displayed in the museum's exhibition halls.
Communications and computer technologies are used with a view to visually convey the Turkish history to contemporary generation and to create a permanent impression in the minds of the young. The 'Janissary Band' Multi-vision introducing the Janissary Band, Dardanelles Diorama depicting the Battles of Dardanelles and touch-screen computer systems can be regarded as examples of such applications.
Military Museum and Cultural Center Command, where the historical artifacts from its collection are exhibited using modern museology techniques in its exhibition halls, presents our cultural wealth inherited from our glorious history to domestic and foreign researchers.
Mehteran Company, the oldest band in the world, contributes to the promotion of our country through its concerts throughout the country and abroad. The performances by “Mehteran Company” can be watched in two separate sessions from 15.00 to 16.00 in days the museum is open.
The Military Museum is open to public visits every day from 09.00 to 17.00 except on January 1, the first days of the Ramadan Holiday and the Festival of Sacrifices and Mondays and Tuesdays.
Archery lessons are given to the visitors at the Cannon Exhibition Hall on Wednesday and Saturday between the hours 14.00 and 15.00.

Hagia Sophia is the one of the most visited museums and most prominent monuments in the world in terms of art and the history of architecture. It has also been called “the eighth wonder of the world” by East Roman Philon as far back as the 6th century. The Sultan Ahmed Mosque is an historical mosque in Istanbul. The mosque is popularly known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior. The many lamps inside the mosque were once covered with gold and gems. Among the glass bowls one could find ostrich eggs and crystal balls. All these decorations have been removed or pillaged for museums. The great tablets on the walls are inscribed with the names of the caliphs and verses from the Quran, originally by the great 17th-century calligrapher Seyyid Kasim Gubari of Diyarbakır, but they have frequently been restored.

One of the magnificent ancient buildings of İstanbul is the Basilica Cistern located in the southwest of Hagia Sofia. Constructed for Justinianus I, the Byzantium Emperor (527-565), this big underground water reservoir is called as “Yerebatan Cistern” among the public because of the underground marble columns. As there used to be a basilica in the place of the cistern, it is also called Basilica Cistern.
The cistern is 140 m long, and 70 m wide, and covers a rectangular area as a giant structure. Accessible with 52-step staircase, the Cistern shelters 336 columns, each of which is 9 m high. Erected at 4.80 m intervals from one another the columns are composed of 12 rows, each has 28 columns.

The Maiden's Tower, also known as Leander's Tower since the medieval Byzantine period, is a tower lying on a small islet located at the southern entrance of the Bosphorus strait 200 m from the coast of Üsküdar in Istanbul, Turkey.
The name comes from a legend: the Byzantine emperor heard a prophecy telling him that his beloved daughter would die at the age of 18 by a snake. So he decided to put her in this tower built on a rock on the Bosphorus isolated from the land thus no snake could kill her. But she couldn't escape from her destiny after all, a snake hidden in a fruit basket brought from the city bit the princess and killed her.
Today, there is a restaurant in the first floor and a café at the top of the tower.
