Kempinski Hotel Hangzhou

The project is the first large-scale complex project operated independently by Sino-Ocean Commercial. It was opened on September 27, 2017, and is located at the southern end of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the Gongchen Bridge. The total area of the project is about 150,000 square meters, including about 18,000 square meters of unique outdoor blocks and 45,000 square meters of five-star Kempinski Hotel facilities. The project leads the Hangzhou business market in all-round construction and improvements. Around the three core values of "fashion", "art“ and "LOHAS", it leverages its unique geographical advantages to bring the nature and cultural customs of the Grand Canal, creating a unique fashion vibe for the shopping center through the blending of traditional culture and modern art, and building the project into a leading artsy shopping center in Hangzhou.

Xixi National Wetland Park is the last remaining example of the traditional water towns of Hangzhou. It features a network of crisscrossing streams and ancient Persimmon trees. An astounding number of 150 species of birds call this haven home. This park is rooted in literature and legends, China’s two most famous novels "Dream of Red Chamber" and "Outlaws of the March", include scenes from Xixi Wetland National Park. Today, this park hosts various festivals, such as the Huazhao Festival and Dragon Boat Racing, which occur during spring and summer respectively. Recent years have seen the addition of many tasteful tea houses, cafes, bars and cinemas, bringing much vitality to the location.

Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum used to be an old silk factory by the Grand Canal. It is next to several other museums - China Fan Museum, China Knife, Scissors and Sword Museum, and China Umbrella Museum. The new landmark has collected nearly 600 works of arts and crafts, including a three-story-high bronze plum blossom - all mural made by local master Zhu Binren. The first floor contains shops selling artistic crafts; the second floor is an exhibition hall and studio space for several crafts masters; the third floor is a permanent exhibition hall displaying ceramics, sculpture, embroidery and other artistic crafts. A dozen of folk artists have studios on the second floor. Visitors are welcome to try their hand at various crafts and purchase them directly from the studio. The fourth floor is the Hangzhou Youth and Children's Cultural and Creative Center, containing 34 classrooms where young people study language, dance, music, art and crafts.

China Knife, Scissors and Sword Museum is situated beside China Umbrella Museum. Two museums share a joint entrance hall. After reaching the main hall then turning right, visitors will see China Knife, Scissors and Sword Museum. With a total area of 2,460 square meters, the museum professionally exhibits a unique culture of China traditional weapons and life tools. It has two floors. The ground floor exhibits scissors and knives, and the second floor shows a variety of knives and swords. The most highlighted zone is the interaction zone, where the visitors can experience the true activities of using these weapons. In this museum, the oldest knife is the bronze-made one made in China Warring-State Period (475 BC-221 BC), and the most mysterious knife is Damascus Steel-Made Knife. Besides, there are also the exhibitions of the traditional scissors workshop.

Meandering for over 1,794 meters, this artery connects the two most important cultural cradles of China: Beijing and Hangzhou. China Grand Canal Museum is situated in the Gongchen Bridge District in the northern part of Hangzhou. It extends from Jinhua Road in the east to Zhoushan Road in the south, neighboring the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in the west. To the north, it is the Gongshu District government. In addition, the ancient Gongchen Bridge locates on the west side of the museum. The museum covers an area of 42,910 square meters, displaying the development of the Grand Canal. The construction itself is in traditional style. The buildings unfold around the Canal Culture Square as a fan, combining with the flat and slope design, adopting Chinese ancient traditional architecture patterns in the detailed aspect.

Xiaohe Street Historic Block, located north of Hangzhou, is positioned at the confluence of the Grand Canal, Xiaohe River and Yuhangtang River. It is called Xiaohe Straight Street as it runs parallel to the Grand Canal in a straight line and its history can be traced back to the Southern Song Dynasty (1127–1279) when, at that time, it was the land and water transportation center for goods. Picturesque scenery, ancient architecture, flagstone walkways and indigenous residents who preserve folk customs and traditional life style, all perfectly reflect the characteristics of Xiaohe Street Historic Block as a typical water town. However, Xiaohe Street Historic Block has its own style as the architecture here is mainly built of concrete on the first floor and wood on the second. Normally the first floor is used for business and the second for living and on almost every sunny morning couples can be seen everywhere choosing any one of the ancient backdrops to shoot their traditional Chinese or western style wedding photos.
