Currarevagh Country House Hotel offers its guests the highest standard of accommodation by the shores of Lough Corrib in Oughterard, Co Galway. We offer an oasis of privacy for guests in an idyllic, undisturbed natural environment, providing exceptional personal service with a high standard of accommodation and old fashioned, traditional character. Our 12 bedrooms are individually styled and offer undisturbed views of either Lough Corrib or the mountains to the North. Guests have exclusive use of three comfortable sitting rooms to relax beside open turf fires, enjoy the breathtaking view, browse our many bookshelves or quietly snooze to the sound of nothing. Currarevagh House Hotel prides itself on its unique and individual character, and this is very evident in its delicious food. Mindful of its Irish roots and a history steeped in providing hospitality to guests over hundreds of years, we provide a food experience in our guest restaurant that you will not find elsewhere in Oughterard.

Once upon a time in 2016, Matt Levy, founder of Covert Cocktail Club, hosted a secret speakeasy as an intimate place for strangers to gather in his home. The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era. Liberated from the confines of a single location, Covert Cocktail Club now brings the speakeasy right to your door—be it at your home, office, bar mitzvah, dinner party, bachelor/ette party or anywhere you choose!
