Cittadel

Op 45 minutes afstand
" Only a couple of families live within the Citadel walls today. In the square you will find the magnificent baroque Cathedral of Gozo dedicated to Santa Marija, or more precisely the Assumption of the Virgin Mary; as well as the Law Courts and the Bishop’s Palace. Very close by are several fascinating small museums and a state of the art Visitors’ Centre (access FAQs here): The Cathedral Museum, the Museum of Archaeology, the Folklore Museum, the Gozo Nature Museum, the Old Prison, the Old Gunpowder Magazine, the Grain Silos, the Battery and the World War II Shelter. For entrance tickets to the Visitors’ Centre and Heritage Malta museums, please book here. Along the winding streets you will find the historic Chapel of St. Joseph and a number of holy niches (shrines) and bass reliefs. Look out too for well-preserved Norman-style windows and arches. On the façade of historic houses and church buildings can be seen Coat-of-Arms, and it is worth noting that whilst some of the damage is due to the toll of time, some is the deliberate work of Napoleon’s troops who briefly occupied the island at the end of the eighteenth century. Mdina Catherdral

Op 18 minutes afstand
The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Paul (Maltese: Il-Katidral Metropolitan ta' San Pawl), commonly known as St Paul's Cathedral or the Mdina Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Mdina, Malta, dedicated to St. Paul the Apostle. The cathedral was founded in the 12th century, and according to tradition it stands on the site of where Roman governor Publius met St. Paul following his shipwreck on Malta. The original cathedral was severely damaged in the 1693 Sicily earthquake, so it was dismantled and rebuilt in the Baroque style to a design of the Maltese architect Lorenzo Gafà between 1696 and 1705. The cathedral is regarded as Gafà's masterpiece.

"In the heart of the bustling St Julian’s sit the Affiliated by Melia hotels: a group of three unique properties located only few steps away one from each other, in the periphery of Mercury Towers by Zaha Hadid Architects. Each distinct in character, the hotels’ names are inspired by three of the principal Mediterranean winds: Mistral, Levante and Scirocco. They offer the perfect base to discover St Julian’s and its wide array of bars, restaurants and shops. Only a few minutes away on foot one will find Spinola Palace, built in the 17th century, and the picturesque Spinola Bay. These beautiful landmarks are named after Fra Paolo Raffaele Spinola. "
