Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, where almost 100 international airlines operate to and from a huge number of countries, handles the greatest amount of air traffic in Spain and is one of the five largest airports in Europe. Many different services can be found inside the airport, including children’s areas, coffee shops and restaurants, pharmacies, chapel, post offices, banks, car rentals, bookstores and kiosks, shops of all types, car parking, emergency areas, medical services and police station.

One of the world’s most modern stadiums, the Metropolitano Stadium is Atlético de Madrid’s home ground. It can seat over 68000 people, and is well connected by metro to the city centre. In addition to Atletico de Madrid’s home games, it also hosts large-scale concerts and has a fascinating museum that is open to the public.

IFEMA MADRID is the Trade Fair Institution of Madrid and one of the five most important trade fair institutions in Europe. Every year, it organises more than 800 fairs, conferences and leisure events. Many of them, such as ARCOmadrid, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid or FITUR, are large events attended by people from all over the world.

Located on the Paseo de la Castellana, Santiago Bernabéu Stadium was inaugurated on 14 December 1947 and is owned by Real Madrid Club de Fútbol. It has a current capacity of 81,044 spectators

Located in Campo de las Naciones, Juan Carlos I is an immense park covering 160 hectares, in which there is an olive grove with over 2,000 specimens of the former Olivar de Hinojosa, a lake, an auditorium, a collection of open-air sculptures and an activity centre. The park is ideal to practice different sports. It has a large skating rink, a golf course, a lake and a river for water sports, such as canoeing, fishing areas, a cycleway and a bike rental service… A free little train to get around the park also runs every half an hour. A wide range of activities are organised for children at weekends.

Built in 1784 by the Duke and Duchess of Osuna, El Capricho is one of the city’s most beautiful and lesser-known parks. It was frequented by 18th century artists, thinkers and bullfighters like writer Leandro Fernández de Moratín and painter Francisco de Goya. Goya in fact painted The Spell, which now hangs in the Lázaro Galdiano Museum, to decorate El Capricho Palace. Boasting a wealth of botanical treasures and wonderful sculptures, the park is home to a mansion, a bandstand, a labyrinth and a small lake.
