Green Initiatives at The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan - Replacing all heart of the house fluorescent lights from T-8 to T-5 - Installation of VFD's to the cooling towers motors - Maintain 45 degree chilled water temperature in the winter time instead of 44 degree - Lower the condenser water temperature of the cooling towers to 80 degree instead of 85 degree helping the chillers become more efficient - Installation of motion sensors in the offices - Usage of IR (Infrared) lights in the meeting rooms instead of incandescent - Replacement of all Casino chandelier bulbs from 60 watt incandescent to 4 watt PL - Replacement of 60 watt incandescent light bulbs with 13 watt PL above the bath tubs in the guestrooms - Installation of dimmers in all guestroom night table, desk and standing lamps - Monitor and maintain domestic hot water temperature at 122 degree - Reduction of steam boiler pressure from 85 PSI to 75 PSI 11) Installation of timers to all signature lights and fountains - Replacement of all pump motors with Premium efficiency ones - Installation of digital/programmable thermostats in the guest and meeting rooms - Replacement of the 60 watt incandescent light bulbs with MR-16 21 watt halogen above the guestroom toilets - Turning off the guestroom exhaust fans at 12 midnight and back on at 5 am
