Anantara New York Palace ligt aan de Pest-kant van de Donau, aan de elegante Erzsébet Krt, een van de belangrijkste boulevards van de stad, centraal en gunstig gelegen ten opzichte van alle belangrijke bezienswaardigheden en culturele attracties. Het gebouw werd in 1894 geopend als het weelderige Europese hoofdkantoor van de New York Life Insurance Company. Het is een eclectisch Belle Époque-paleis dat is ontworpen door Alajos Hauszmann, een beroemde Oostenrijks-Hongaarse architect, en is geïnspireerd op Italiaanse renaissance-, barok-, gotische en art nouveau-invloeden. Het is in mei 2006 heropend als luxe hotel en nu, in 2020, is het hotel toegevoegd aan het portfolio van Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas.
