The Mercury Bolton is supposedly the first specifically designed motel in Britain. This one-story, flat-roofed structure, which was constructed in the late 1950s, is reminiscent of the classic motel featured in many American films. The Beatles, John Pertwee, Glen Tilbrook, and Terry Waite are just a few of the several well-known visitors that have stayed here.
