About us
Het George R. Brown Convention Center is de belangrijkste vergaderruimte van Houston. Als een van de grootste congresfaciliteiten in het land richt de GRB zich op gemak en toegankelijkheid voor vergaderplanners door breakout-rooms, registratieruimten en tentoonstellingszalen op drie niveaus te „stapelen”. Het GRB ligt in het hart en de drukte van het centrum, aan de overkant van Discovery Green Park en op korte loopafstand van het entertainment- en winkelcentrum GreenStreet, Minute Maid Park, Toyota Center en Shell Energy Stadium. De GRB is verbonden aan twee van de beste hotels van Houston: het Hilton Americas met 1200 kamers, het grootste hotel van Houston en het Marriott Marquis met 1.000 kamers. Het Marriott is verbonden aan een garage met 2000 plaatsen die ook aansluit op de GRB. In de garage kunnen bussen ook congresgangers in- en uitladen. In de buurt zijn er naast de hotels op het hoofdkantoor van de conventie een aantal accommodatiemogelijkheden. Een Embassy Suites ligt op slechts een steenworp afstand en nog een handvol hotels, die alle prijsklassen dekken, zijn aanwezig of in aanbouw, op een comfortabele loopafstand van 3-4 blokken. De GRB bevat ook een centrale ingang met een grote lobbyruimte die uitkomt op de derde verdieping met grote glazen wanden. De glazen wand laat zonlicht door in het midden van de verdiepingen twee en drie en biedt gasten en bezoekers een onbelemmerd uitzicht op de skyline van de binnenstad en de activiteit, kleur en stedelijke sfeer van het naburige Discovery Green-park.

Eén ding is in vervlogen jaren keer op keer bewezen: Houston weet hoe je een groot feest moet geven. De GRB was het centrum van fanfestivals voor grote evenementen zoals de Final Four 2016 en de Super Bowl 2017, met een recordaantal bezoekers en groot succes.
