The Renoir Museum is located in the heart of an outstanding estate planted with olive and citrus trees, where you can discover a superb panorama that extends to the Cap d'Antibes. With its collections, its 14 original paintings, its 40 sculptures, its furniture and its studio... it is a moving testimony to the creative and familiar universe of the impressionist master, Auguste Renoir, who spent the last 12 years of his life in Cagnes-sur-Mer. The Renoir Museum now offers visitors the chance to see the site as Renoir knew it.

Built around 1300 by Rainier Grimaldi, Lord of Cagnes, this castle withstood sieges and assaults before being transformed into a seigneurial residence combining the charm and wealth of a palace. Today it is a historical monument, a marvelous setting that houses the Olive Tree Museum, the Solidor Donation and exceptional baroque painted ceilings. The Château-Musée Grimaldi also hosts temporary exhibitions of contemporary art, as well as numerous concerts.
