More
Mount Severn is in mid-Wales, 1mile from the small market town of Llanidloes and some 25 miles from the coast. Ten miles to the west lays the magnificent range of Plynlimon, reaching nearly 2,500 feet. Nearby are the sources of four rivers - the Wye, the Severn, the Clywedog and the Trannon. Mount Severn stands near the junction of the Severn and the Clywedog, and is approximately 10 miles from the source of the Severn. The house itself is a large Grade II listed Georgian country residence, surrounded by 14 acres of gardens and woodlands through which the river Severn flows on its way to Llanidloes. Its waters are clear and cool - ideal for swimming in the deep, rocky pools or just paddling in the shallows. The woodlands and gardens, which were established 175 years ago, include some superb oak, beeches, fir trees, and abundant rhododendrons and azaleas. Some of them being important specimens to Wales and some introduced from Kew Gardens. Its 12 guest bedrooms are all en-suite and we can accommodate up to 30 people comfortably. The well stocked Library is the perfect place to relax and unwind after day learning in the outdoors, whilst waiting for dinner - which is freshly prepared using locally sourced produce. We are of course able to cater for all dietary requirements. In addition, it has two meeting facilities, our main Conference Room can seat up to 40 in theatre style seating or 20 in boardroom style. The Library can seat up to 12. Both conference rooms have open log fires for extra warmth or atmosphere in the winter months.
