About us
With its unsurpassed attention to detail the stunning new Springs Resort & Spa seeks to redefine the highest standards of excellence for world class luxury resorts. The timeless architecture and interior design blend thoroughly with the unique location and natural attributes of the 165 acre property such as the spectacular view of the active Arenal Volcano, the mineral laden, artesian hot springs, the lush rain forest and the incredibly scenic Arenal River. Although recently opened in the fall of 2008 the resort has become quickly famous for the surreal, picture perfect view of the Arenal Volcano and surrounding countryside offered from every single guest room. From the bed you need only to open your eyes to gaze directly at the smoking volcano framed flawlessly by a grand arched window. We invite all interested meeting planners to come for a site inspection and experience firsthand why The Springs Resort & Spa offers one of the most unique meeting venues on earth where luxury and ecology coexist in perfect harmony. Although we are an independent boutique hotel we offer more exceptional group amenities than larger chain resorts. We were voted by CNN Travel as one of "The Seven Resorts in the World with the Most Spectacular Views" and we were also the filming site for ABC's The Bachelor Costa Rica Episode in 2011. Below are some of the outstanding reasons why you should choose us to host your special group. • Onsite Private River and Outdoor Center (Club Rio) in our 80 acre Rainforest Preserve to host custom Team Building Programs and Corporate Challenges- see details below. • Seven uniquely themed indoor or covered multi-function spaces and over 17,000 sq. ft. of tropical outdoor, poolside, terrace and riverfront space for unforgettable parties and themed events. • Our groups truly appreciate the five uniquely themed dining options and six bars/lounges that provide a unique cocktail or dining theme each day of their stay. • The Arenal area of Costa Rica offers by far the most impressive selection of rainforest based Day Excursions and Adventure Activities in the entire country. Perhaps the most exciting group amenity is our onsite Club Rio Outdoor Center featuring a private stretch of the Arenal River (class I,II,III rapids) running through our 80 acre rainforest preserve. We can custom design the perfect teambuilding format for your group at Club Rio with both adventure and educational activities including river tubing, river kayaking, horseback riding, rock climbing/rappelling wall, guided nature hikes, hot springs and our riverfront Rancho Club Rio Restaurant (2,375 sq. ft. of service area seats 130). Please ask about our Team Building Programs, they can be fun and funny or as seriously competitive as you desire. Your guests will also be amazed at our Wildlife Rescue Center down at Club Rio where we care for over 25 rescued jungle cats including margays, jaguarundis, ocelots, and pumas. Other wild animals placed in our care by the Costa Rican Wildlife Ministry include white face monkeys, spider monkeys, toucans and sloths. Our expert nature guides will take your group on an educational tour of this facility and they will learn about the rescue programs and the problems concerning the future survival of these species. Unlike many other group hotels in Costa Rica you don’t need to leave to see the rainforest; at The Springs Resort and Spa you are surrounded by it. With over 20 hot spring pools found throughout the resort and our 14,000 sq. ft. Sanctuary Spa and Fitness Center there is so much to do onsite your group will need a lot of free time on the property to explore and enjoy. However, because the Arenal area boasts the most impressive collection of adventure activities in Costa Rica we highly recommend many off-site tours for group itineraries. Our suggested tours/day excursions are Club Rio Teambuilding or Fun Day (onsite), Pure Trek Canyon Waterfall Rappel and Sky Trek Zip Lin

Transportation Options The concern about transportation to and from the resort is always one of the first questions on the list and our experience with the intra-country charter services is excellent. Although The Springs Resort & Spa at Arenal is less than a three hour drive from San Jose International Airport and the same drive time from the Liberia Airport many groups choose to charter planes from either of the two intra-country carriers, Nature Air or Sansa. The scenery is spectacular from the air or the ground. The flight time from San Jose or Liberia is about 30 minutes and the local Arenal/El Tanque Airport is about a 30 minute bus ride from The Springs. We very much recommend this option as the flight is extremely scenic and actually a great way to appreciate the landscape of the country. The prices for chartering are very reasonable! Although The Springs Resort & Spa is famous for its view of the Arenal Volcano, Hot Mineral Springs, The Sanctuary Spa and its Club Rio Outdoor Center, our groups truly appreciate the five restaurants and six bars that provide a unique dining theme each day of their stay. • Las Ventanas (seats 54 indoor A/C) is our fine dining option which offers an ultra-upscale tropical fusion menu as well as the finest imported steaks. On a clear day or night you can see for over 50 miles from this incredible vantage point. • Tres Cascadas (seats 200 –open air but mostly covered) is our gourmet buffet restaurant with a great al fresco dining atmosphere and an incredible view. • Ginger Sushi (seats 150-Open air but covered) is our renowned tropical sushi experience and is located in the center of the Pillars Ballroom, The Pillars Terrace and the Fountain Gallery. All of these spaces except for the Pillars Ballroom have great volcano views. • Tree Tops Grill and Poolside Terrace (seats 24 covered, 100 poolside) A unique ambiance with incredible views and surrounded by flowing hot water spring pools and waterfalls. • Rancho Club Rio Restaurant (seats 120 covered, up to 400 in the total area) is located in our private rainforest preserve overlooking a stretch of the breathtakingly scenic Arenal River.
