The BMW World is one of Munich’s newest attractions. Located at one end of the Olympic Park, you can see all the new BMW car models and visit the BMW Museum located directly opposite of the BMW World. Only 10 minutes away from our hotel by car or about 30 minutes by subway, the BMW World is also a great place to start a visit to the Olympic Park.

The Frauenkirche, Munich’s iconic church, is located in walking distance of the Marienplatz square. Recognizable from many postcards and pictures of Munich, it has a rich and colorful history. Established in 1494 as an episcopal church, it continues to serve to this day as the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising and seat of its Archbishop. Some stories say that the footprint right inside of the church is from the devil itself – why not come and have a look yourself? You will reach the Frauenkirche by subway in about 10 minutes from our hotel

The Viktualienmarkt, a local farmers market, is located just behind the Marienplatz. Are you looking for fresh fruits & and vegetables, a small farmers market, some German souvenirs or a nice beer garden? Then the Viktualienmarkt is just right for you, as it combines all of that. When you are already on tour through Munich, then there is no better stop for lunch or dinner than the Viktualienmarkt.

Located right at the heart of Munich the famous town hall with its popular glockenspiel show is an ideal meeting place for tourists and locals alike. Situated at the center of Marienplatz square on top of the roof of the town hall, the glockenspiel chimes twice a day, once at 11am and once at 12pm. Arguably one of the most famous tourist attractions in Munich, the Marienplatz square can easily be reached by public transportation. From our hotel it takes about 10 minutes to reach the square. From there, both the Viktualienmarkt (a typical Bavarian farmers’ market and beer garden) and Kaufingerstraße (a street lined with shops between Marienplatz square and Karlsplatz Stachus square) are in walking distance.

Are you looking for a beer and typical Bavarian food at the heart of Munich? Then the Hofbräuhaus, the world’s most famous Bavarian restaurant – is a great choice for you. It started as a brewery in 1589 and now houses four different restaurants. The Schwemme, Bräustüberl, Festival Hall and Beer Garden. After spending the day in Munich’s old town, the Hofbräuhaus is right at the Marienplatz and a perfect location to end the evening.
