It was built in 1776 and is housed in the Palazzo di Brera, a palace that was built at the end of the seventeenth century.

Leonardo da Vinci’s “Last Supper” is one of the world’s most celebrated works and housed in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Painted between 1494 and 1498 under the rule of Ludovico il Moro, Leonardo abandoning the traditional method of fresco painting, depicted the scene "a secco" (on a dry wall) on the wall of the refectory.

One of the oldest cultural institutions in Milan and founded in 1618 by Cardinal Federico Borromeo, the Ambrosiana Gallery houses a permanent collection of fine paintings, sculptures, etchings and drawings donated by Borromeo himself.
