In the heart of Grosseto, against the backdrop of the sixteenth century Medici Walls, the Grand Hotel Bastiani is a stylish jewel set into Piazza Gioberti. From here it is easy walking to discover the many historical and artistic testimonies of the city, from San Lorenzo Cathedral and the mediaeval piazza Dante with Palazzo degli Aldobrandeschi, to the famous monument to Leopold II of Lorraine. The sculpture represents the Grand Duke of Lorraine, who was particularly dear to the Maremmans for his land reclamation works.
