Columbia Metropolitan Airport is the main commercial airport for Columbia and the Midlands region of South Carolina. The airport is five miles southwest of Columbia, in Lexington County, surrounded by the city of Cayce and the towns of Springdale, Pine Ridge, and South Congaree.

Featuring plenty of river views, the Riverfront Park is a nice place to unwind and get away, being only a short distance from Columbia's business district and the University. You can see the history of the Columbia Canal and Water Works while looking through one of the old pump houses. The main trail is also a good place for bicycling. There are plenty of benches and picnic tables along the main section of the park, with some spectacular views of the scenery.

The Vista is the center of activity as the city’s premier location for commercial, residential, shopping, dining, and cultural offerings. With over 45 restaurants and bars, 60 artists’ galleries and specialty shops, and a diverse mix of businesses and services, the Congaree Vista offers an array of choices all in one convenient location. Plus, the area’s proximity to the Congaree River, downtown business district, and University of South Carolina, make it the ideal place to visit, live, work and play.

Adventure Carolina provides several guided kayak and canoe river and lake trips in Columbia. We also have the ability to create a trip for any group up to 100. Our trips are on the Congaree River, Saluda River, Broad River, Lake Murray, Congaree Creek, and Cedar Creek. We are approved to guide kayak trips in the Congaree National Park. We rent River Tubes for trips down the local rivers and offer shuttle services. We also are a full kayak and canoe rental shop with a 3,000 square-foot retail store selling lots of watersports equipment. Winter season activities include ski rentals, and snow skiing trips.
