Offering 360-degree views of the island and iconic Phang Nga Bay, the Phra Puttamingmongkol Akenakkiri Buddha stands 45 metres (148 feet) tall at the peak of Sakayamuni Hill. Clad in gleaming white marble, this cross- legged colossus sits on a marble lotus flower alongside a much smaller golden Buddha. No beachwear, short skirts or shorts should be worn when visiting this religious site.

On Sunday evenings the old Sino-Portuguese houses lining the street light up with bright colours as the spaces between them fill with buskers, performers, and stalls selling local food, handicrafts, clothing and souvenirs.
