The Hotel in Pietra is a beautiful 13th-century church conversion. It is perched high up in the Sasso Barisano (Matera’s old town quarter built into caves). L’Hotel in Pietra is a boutique hotel where you can feel an intimate atmosphere surrounded by the simplicity of its unique furniture. All the 8 rooms are different, imaginative conversions of the unusual spaces the old buildings provide. The reception-breakfast room occupies the main nave, with soaring ceiling and looping tall arches.
