Currently, Nowy Square functions on weekdays and weekends as a market where you can buy both vegetables and antiques. There are many cafes and pubs along the square. Plac Nowy is also a place of various festivals and events. m.in events as part of the Jewish Culture Festival take place here.

One of the largest city parks in Kraków. It encircles the Old Town. The park has an area of 21 ha (52 acres) and a length of 4 km (2.5 mi). It consists of a chain of thirty smaller gardens designed in varied styles and adorned with numerous monuments and fountains.

A fortified residency on the Vistula River in Kraków, established on the orders of King Casimir III the Great and enlarged over the centuries into a number of structures around an Italian-styled courtyard. It represents nearly all European architectural styles of the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods. For centuries Wawel Castle was the residence of the kings of Poland and the symbol of Polish statehood.
