The CCS campus totals 16 acres, with approximately 225,000 square feet of instruction space. Providing top-notch facilities is a high priority at CCS. The new A. Alfred Taubman Center for Design Education houses the Advertising Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Product Design and Transportation Design undergraduate departments as well as the Graduate programs in Design and Transportation Design. The building also houses the Henry Ford Academy: School for Creative Studies, an art and design middle school and high school, a conference center, a full service cafeteria and loft-style dorms. The classrooms in the Taubman Center were created to be flexible and open to change. The building is a state-of-the-art wireless communications facility and has a clay modeling studio with a spray booth, and a rapid prototyping machine. The entire Taubman Center population dines in the 350-seat dining hall and shops at the new art supply and book store. The Taubman Center offers tenant space for creative businesses or nonprofit organizations. The Benson and Edith Ford Conference Center includes a flexible, 500-seat auditorium space and a series of meeting rooms, and the Valade Family Gallery features work by CCS alumni, students and local artists. On the Ford campus, the The Walter B. Ford II Building is a state-of-the art facility wired with a single digital network to carry voice, data, and video. The building houses high-tech flexible classrooms incorporating both traditional and computer workstations and a 250-seat auditorium equipped with the capacity to project digital images and sound. In addition, the building also provides space on each floor for the exhibition of student work.
